How DOT Due Dates works
Where the data comes from
When you enter a USDOT number, we look it up in FMCSA's public datasets on data.transportation.gov (the motor carrier census file and related registration files). These are the same public records anyone can download. They can lag behind FMCSA's live system by days or weeks, so a brand-new or just-updated record may not show yet.
How the dates are calculated
- MCS-150: from the last two digits of your USDOT number, using the schedule in 49 CFR 390.19T. If the public data shows a recent filing, we move to the next cycle.
- UCR: registration for the next year opens October 1 and must be done before January 1 (UCR Plan). We only show it for carriers listed as interstate.
- IFTA: the fixed quarterly due dates (April 30, July 31, October 31, January 31).
- Form 2290: August 31 for vehicles in use in July (IRS).
- IRP: the renewal month you tell us, because each state sets its own schedule.
Each guide links to the official source. If a rule changes, we update the calculation and the guide.
What we don't do
- We don't file anything and we aren't a filing agent.
- We never ask for your FMCSA, Login.gov, IRS or state logins.
- We aren't the government and aren't affiliated with any agency.
- We don't sell or share your email.
Reminders are a backup, not a guarantee. You're still responsible for meeting your deadlines, so please double-check with the agency.
